STRAWBERRY RESERVOIR -- This is "the big one" that didn't get away. It's not a "fish tale," either. It's the real deal.Tuesday, a 34-inch, 14-pound cutthroat was taken out of Strawberry Reservoir. According to Paul and John Phillips, owners of Strawberry Marina and Lodge, this is the largest cutthroat caught at Strawberry since the lake was poisoned in 1993.
We didn't find out the identity of the fisherman until he saw our story. Midvale resident A.D. Green he called KSL Sports Friday night to let us know it was him.Green said he made the big catch using a needlefish lure.
Monday, a 10-pound rainbow was taken out of the reservoir. With the cooler temperatures, the big fish are in shallow water and are very active.
